How to Safely Get Up From A Fall

If you fall, follow these steps to get back up safely.

Sometimes we've fallen and we can get up. I just want to let you know that there is a sequence of movements that can allow you to safely get from the floor to a seated position and allow you to be comfortable and safe.

If you find yourself on the floor, the first thing is to calm yourself down. You want to make sure that you're nice and calm when you first start the movement activities. Roll yourself to your stomach. Push up into a quadruped position where you're on your hands and knees. Bring your arms up onto a surface that's higher, like a sofa or chair. Then you want to bring one leg up into what we call a half-kneeling position where one leg is up and the other knee is down on the ground. Push up and then bring yourself onto the surface that you're sitting on.
